In 1988 Sue Shock left a career in education to begin Sue Shock Insurance.  In the beginning Sue was working out of a briefcase and a minivan calling on some of her closest friends that would end up becoming her first and longest served clients.  

In 1990 the first dedicated office space was built in Sue's home.  This 8'x10' room would see many worknights lasting until 2:00 am as Sue worked tirelessly to take care of her clients' needs.

 

In 1998 Sue Shock Insurance had grown to the point where an employee was needed to help Sue.  A second room was added to the house and Glenda Sellers came on board.  Sue and Glenda would continue to operate Sue Shock Insurance out of Sue's home until 2002.

By this time Sue's 14 years of service to her clients had resulted in the need to move into a dedicated office space in Vilonia.  During this time the company added its long time Group Benefits Specialist, Sharon Myers (Sue's sister) and also a dedicated service worker for Medicare clients.

​

2014 would prove to be a difficult time for Sue Shock Insurance and the entire Vilonia community as an EF4 tornado ripped through town on the evening of April 27th.  When the sun came up the next day it was evident Sue Shock Insurance would have to find a new home as the current office was blown to pieces.  For the remainder of the year Sue Shock Insurance moved back into Sue's house.

The next year we opened back up at our current location, 1030 Main Street.  Since then we have added Trista Taylor, Sara Blair (Sue's Daughter), Caleb Shock (Sue's Son) and Danielle Shock (Caleb's Wife).  

​

37 years have gone by and Sue isn't on the phone as much as she used to be, but still comes in a few mornings each week to make sure Sue Shock Insurance Clients are still getting the same level of excellence they have been getting since 1988.

These days when you call in for Individual Health/Dental/Vision you'll be directed to Sara or Trista.  If you are needing help with Medicare, Danielle will be taking care of you.  Caleb can help you with your Life and Annuity needs.  If you are a business owner yourself and looking to offer benefits to your employees, Sharon has and continues to be your go to!
